Stefan Lutschinger is a media artist, designer, and creative technologist whose practice explores the intersections of art, technology and politics. Working across digital media, interactive environments and experimental technologies, he investigates social memory, algorithmic power and the possibilities of resistance within networked culture.
A pioneer of Austria’s early digital culture, he developed websites, interactive media and virtual environments throughout the 1990s before founding Digital Drafts in 1998. His subsequent work at MuseumsQuartier Vienna and with Netbase/t0 engaged with tactical media, hacker culture, digital rights and critical approaches to technological transformation.
Based in London since 2008, Lutschinger has collaborated with artists, galleries and collectives including Furtherfield, Arebyte and monochrom. He is a member of Class Wargames, where Situationist gameplay becomes a form of critical and collective practice. He is also a trustee and senior technology advisor at Cybersalon, contributing to public debates on digital futures.
His current artistic research explores AI, virtual worlds, embodiment and digital intimacy, bringing together speculative aesthetics, playful experimentation and critical inquiry.
